Holly Colino, former Apprentice Company Member of JRD in 2001 at the Painted Bride Season, featured as the "Young Marie" in Ruddy's Marie's Diary, was recently invited to join the Martha Graham Company on their upcoming tour to Greece performing in Martha's Graham's full-evening work, Clytemnestra.
This past August 2008, Ms. Ruddy was selected to represent Philadelphia artists in the American delegation that attended the Tanzmesse conference in Düsseldorf, Germany, sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts and administered by Dance/USA.
The Internationale Tanzmesse NRW was created in the early '90s to facilitate international exchange and understanding among dance people worldwide. Begun as a regional gathering, the International Tanzmesse NRW has grown into an international meeting point of dance drawing professionals from over 40 countries.
The project was supported with a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts with matching funds from Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation, San Francisco Foundation, Heinz Endowments, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Mertz Gilmore Foundation and the U.S. Consul Generale in Duesseldorf. The intent of the grant is to support artists showcasing at the Tanzmesse and to assist managers and presenters to attend the Tanzmesse.
